Privacy Policy

PlayKraftCo makes personalised picture books. To do that we need a few details about your child and at least one photo. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who helps us, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted. We have written it to be read, not skimmed past.

1. What we collect

• About your child: first name, age, birth month, whether the story should be about a girl or a boy, and the photos you upload.
• About you: your email address, and when you order, your name, delivery address and phone number.
• Your consent: the time you agreed to this policy, the version you agreed to, your IP address and your browser type, so we can show consent was given.
• Payments: handled by our payment provider. We receive a payment reference and never see or store your card or bank details.

We remove all hidden information from photos when we receive them, including any location data your phone may have attached.

2. How we use it

• To paint your child into the illustrations and put their name into the story.
• To show you the preview, take your order, print the book and deliver it.
• To contact you about your preview and your order.
• To keep the service secure and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

We do not use your child's photos or pages for advertising, we do not use them to train any model, we do not show them to anyone else, and we never sell or rent personal information.

3. Why we are allowed to

We process your child's information because you, as their parent or legal guardian, give us consent when you create a preview, and to carry out the order you place. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your preview (see section 7); this does not affect processing already done.

4. Who helps us

A small number of carefully chosen service providers process information on our behalf, only to provide this service and under contracts that require them to protect it and not use it for their own purposes:

• cloud hosting and storage providers, where your photos and pages are kept, encrypted;
• image processing services that help us paint your child into the illustrations;
• our payment provider;
• our printing and delivery partners, who receive the finished book and your delivery details.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

• If you don't order: your photos, preview pages and details are deleted automatically within 3 days.
• If you order: your photos are deleted within 30 days after your book is made. The finished pages are kept for 12 months so we can reprint a damaged or lost book, then deleted.
• Order records: your child's details are removed from our order records 12 months after the order. We keep invoices and payment records for as long as tax law requires.

6. How we protect it

Photos and pages are stored encrypted, in private storage that is never publicly accessible. Links to your preview images expire after a few minutes. Access inside PlayKraftCo is limited to the people and systems that need it to make your book.

7. Your rights

• Delete now: every preview page has a "Delete these photos and pages now" link that removes them immediately.
• Access, correct or delete: write to hello@playkraftco.example and we will respond within 30 days.
• Withdraw consent at any time, the same way.
• Complain: to our Grievance Officer below, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority.

8. Children

Our service is for parents and legal guardians. We only collect a child's information from their parent or guardian, with that adult's consent. Children should not use the site themselves. If you believe we hold a child's information without a guardian's consent, write to us and we will delete it.

9. Where your information is stored

Our systems are hosted in India. Some of our service providers may process information in other countries; when they do, they are bound to protect it to the standard described here.

10. Cookies

We use only what the site needs to work, such as remembering your last preview on your own device. We do not use advertising cookies on preview pages.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you by email if the change affects an order in progress.
